THE LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM

Second British edition. Publisher's original purple cloth with gilt titles to the spine and upper board, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding firm with a slight lean to the spine, the cloth mottled and rubbed at the extremities. There is a tiny wormhole to the top corner of the upper board and the first two thirds of the contents. The contents, with offsetting to the endpapers and spotting to the prelims and the closed text block edge, are otherwise clean and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed, nicked, creased and spine-faded dustwrapper that has several closed tears and chips (with small loss to the upper left of the front panel and lower edge of the rear panel that have been repaired with tape to the underside), and a small circular black ink blob to the rear panel.

A heavily abridged edition of Bram Stoker's horror novel inspired by the Northhumbrian legend of the Lambton Worm. First novel was first published by Rider in 1911. (Bleiler; Locke: A Spectrum of Fantasy).
