Early printing of this 1912 short story collection. Publisher's original brown cloth with black titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, the contents entirely complete and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Rear hinge cracked to the middle but holding firm. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and chipped pictorial dustwrapper which has several short closed tears and a little creasing but remains attractive.
Previously published by William Blackwood in both magazine and book form, this would appear to be the first Hodder and Stoughton edition.
