First edition with these illustrations. Publisher's original grey cloth with illustration after a design by Sam Weber to the upper board, titles in red and black to the spine. Illustrated with a frontispiece and five further full page colour plates by Sam Weber. Printed on Abbey Wove paper. Housed in the original black card slipcase. A near fine copy, the binding square and tight, the top corners with very slight bumping to the top corners. The contents, with two tiny creased corners to the first two leaves, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the very slightly rubbed, structurally sound slipcase.

First published in the UK without illustrations by Rupert Hart-Davis in 1954. This newly illustrated edition follows the text of the first edition, with minor emendations. Michael Moorcock's eight page introduction is printed here for the first time.
