First edition, first printing. Trade issue. Publisher's original blue cloth with white titles to the upper board, in dustwrapper. Tennant's drawings and handwriting are illustrated in facsimile. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth a little darkened at the extreme board edges. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed and nicked original dustwrapper which has a few tiny chips and closed tears at the spine tips and fold corners. An attractive example, scarce in the dustwrapper.

Although dated 1929, first publication was not until 1937. The book was subsequently reissued by Hamish Hamilton in 1986, the year of the author's 80th birthday.
