Illustrated with a frontispiece and eight full page colour plates by Donato Giancola. Printed on Abbey Wove paper. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the fine, structurally sound slipcase.

The novel was first published in a shorter book form in America by G. P. Putnam's Sons in 1961. The text of this edition follows that of the full-length version, first published in Great Britain by New English Library in 1991, with minor emendations. Winner of the 1962 Hugo Award for Best Novel.
