A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout. A touch faded to the upper spine tip. In the dustwrapper, a little faded to the spine with some minor rubbing to tips. Signed and dated, "Naomi Mitchison / 1970" to the front free endpaper. Mitchison (1897-1999), born in Edinburgh, travelled widely and was a frequent visitor to Botswana, where this short novel for younger readers is set. The novel centres upon thirteen-year-old Mosaye and her family during a terrible drought.
