Complete in six volumes. Original burgundy leather with gilt titles to the spines. All edges gilt. Housed in the original cloth-covered box which has gilt titles to the front panel. Illustrated throughout in black and white by John Gilbert. A near fine set, the bindings square and firm, the gilt bright and fresh, the extremities with a little light rubbing. Internally there are occasional, infrequent creased page corners, the contents are otherwise clean and without stamps or inscriptions. The box has some rubbing and marking, a little wear to the lid hinge and is missing part of the ribbon. An attractive copy.
