First edition. Original green cloth with gilt titles and decorations to the spine and upper board. Top edge gilt. With four tissue-guarded illustrations by the author and a few further in-text illustrations and vignettes. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth a little rubbed to the extremities. The lightly toned contents, with a little spotting to the text block fore-edge, are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions.
