[WILD WEST ANIMATION]

Manuscript animation strip book. Blue pencil. Forty-five stapled leaves with a drawing to the recto of each, many also with dialogue. Very good condition with pp.20-45 loose, an old punch hole to the lower left corner, a few marks to the first page, and minor wear to the extremities. The drawings remain clean and bright.

A highly accomplished series of drawings, similar to the style of Disney, from the early days of British animation. Produced by a professional illustrator, it tells the tale of settlers heading west, their conflicts with Native Americans, and the story of the stagecoach between 'the small dusty minin' town of Tombstone' and 'Cactus City', its transportation of gold, and the attempts of 'the great Beanpole Jackson' to ensure its safety. The manuscript appears to be a complete story in itself, although could potentially have continued for another page or so. An uncommon early animation draft, wonderfully produced.
