THE SAVOY COCKTAIL BOOK. Being in the main a complete compendium of the cocktails, Rickeys, Daisies, Slings, Shrubs, Smashes, Fizzes, Juleps, Cobblers, Fixes, and other drinks, known and vastly appreciated in this year of grace 1930, with sundry notes of amusement and interest concerning them, together with subtle observations upon wines and their special occasions. Being in the particular an elucidation of the Manners and Customs of people of quality in a period of some equality.

First edition, first printing [first issue]. Signed by Harry Craddock. Publisher's original illustrated boards with gilt titles to the black cloth spine. Illustrated throughout with Gilbert Rumbold's characteristic colour illustrations. An excellent near fine copy, the boards with only light rubbing to the extremities and without the pitting and oxidization of the heavy silver and gilt decoration usually encountered. Upper corners bumped. The black cloth spine is a little faded although the gilt remains bright. The contents with a few isolated foxing spots are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. A superb example of this art deco cocktail classic.

Inscribed by the author in black ink on the reverse of the dedication page ""Here's How"/ Harry Craddock / December [19]30". This is the correct first edition with paginated title page and the Bacardi Cocktail errata slip tipped in at page 25. Scarce thus.
