First edition, first printing. Publisher's original blue cloth with black titles to the spine, in the Bip Pares illustrated dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding firm with some rubbing and bumping to the board edges, the spine a little toned. The contents, with an ink name on the front endpaper, some toning of the wartime paper-stock and a foxing spot to the fore-edge, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that has several closed tears at the folds and a couple of tiny chips at the spine tips. Not price-clipped (8/6 net to the lower front flap). Very scarce in dustwrapper.
The fourth book by the writing partnership and neighbours Manning Coles. (Hubin).
