CAN CAPITALISM LAST?

First edition. Left Book Club issue. Original red paper-covered boards with black titles to the spine and upper board. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with minor cracking to the paper covering the front inner-hinge and a scratch to the spine. The contents with toning to page edges are otherwise clean throughout and free from any previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Also included is a letter dated 1996 from Dave Turner to Brian Ryder discussing the identity of the author, apparently Prof. Denis Herbert Stott, as well as photocopies of his birth, marriage and death certificates.

A critique of the economic ideas of J.M. Keynes from a Marxist perspective. Interestingly, the accompanying letter discusses the potential personal influence of Hugh Gaitskell and Evan Durbin (prior to their membership of the Labour Party) in informing the author's work.
