COSMORAMA The Manners, Customs, and Costumes, of all Nations of the World.

New edition with extra plates. Publisher's original blue cloth with gilt titles to the spine and upper board. Illustrated with 48 wonderful hand-coloured engravings across 24 plates (complete). A very good copy, the binding shaken, but all still holding well, and with a little wear to the extremities. The contents with a previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown, an ink spot to the reverse of the frontispiece, occasional marking/spotting to page edges, and some creasing to the top corners of pp.15-18, are otherwise clean throughout. The plates are fresh and bright.

The first edition contained 15 plates. An early nineteenth-century panorama of global costumes and cultures embellished with a superb range of beautifully hand-coloured engravings. A scarce title, especially in its original binding, and in unusually good condition.
