First edition, limited edition. One of 100 copies (of a total edition of 492) signed by Virginia Woolf. Publisher's original maroon cloth with titles in gilt to the spine. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth a touch darkened at the spine. The contents are entirely complete, clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Housed in a bespoke burgundy quarter morocco, felt lined folding case. A superb example, in its rarest form of this important feminist text.

Signed by Virginia Woolf in purple ink on the half title. This copy hand numbered 14 on the limitation page at the rear. Of the 492 copies printed, 450 were for sale: those numbered 1 to 100 were reserved for sale in the UK by Virginia and Leonard Woolf's The Hogarth Press, the remaining 350 copies for America to be distributed by Random House. (Kirkpatrick A12a; Woolmer 215a).
