AGAINST ALL ODDS

First edition. Original orange boards with titles in black to the upper board and spine, housed in the original cloth slipcase. Small oblong quarto. Unpaginated. Introductory hand lettered text by Haring and with 20 illustrations printed on thick Rivoli paper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with some fading to the spine. The contents, with some spotting primarily to the early text pages, infrequently later on, are otherwise clean and without stamps or inscriptions. The slipcase with a little wear, darkening and light marking remains firm and sound.

Published in an edition of 2500 hand numbered copies of which the first 500 were intended to be signed by Haring, but he sadly died the week before publication therefore no signed copies were produced. This is copy numbered 824. The drawings were created by Haring during the course of one afternoon in his New York studio whilst listening to Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley. "These drawings are about the Earth we inherited and the dismal task of trying to save it - against all odds".
