First edition thus, first printing. Signed by the author. Original black imitation leather boards with gilt titles to the spine, in the Tomislav Tikulin illustrated dustwrapper. With four colour plates and illustrated endpapers by Tikulin. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the closed text-block edge with a hint of very faint spotting, the contents otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the near fine original dustwrapper which is very slightly rubbed in a few spots at the edges. Not price-clipped ($125 on the front flap). Housed in the original slipcase which has slight rubbing and fraying and the extremities.

Issued in a limited edition of 224 copies, this example is numbered 209 and signed by Robert McCammon in black ink on the limitation page. A deluxe edition of the author's first novel, hitherto out of print, about a demonic child born into an ordinary family.
