Early edition. Contemporary quarter brown morocco over maroon cloth boards, the spine with elaborate decoration and titles in gilt. Marbling to page edges. Illustrated with an engraved portrait frontispiece of Shelley. The author and Shelley expert William St. Clair's copy, with his signature in pencil to the front pastedown. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with rubbing to the spine, bumping to the board edges and wear to the corners. The contents with toning to the endpapers and the occasional spot of light foxing to the text are otherwise in very good order and clean throughout.
An uncommon early German translation of the poetical works of Percy Bysshe Shelley.
