Illustrated with superb black and white illustrations drawn by Eric Fraser after designs by Ingahild Grathmer. Housed in the original Wassa goatskin, scalloped edged slipcase with titles in gilt to one side. A fine set, the bindings square and firm, bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The slipcase is structurally sound with some shelfwear to the bottom edge. A handsome set of Tolkien's masterpiece of fantasy fiction.

Issued in a limited edition of 1750 copies of which this set is numbered 914. The drawings by Eric Fraser, from the original designs of Ingahild Grathmer (the pseudonym of Queen Margrethe of Denmark) were first published by the Folio Society in 1977.
