First edition, first printing. Publisher's original orange cloth with black titles and border to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth fresh and bright. The contents with a previous owner's bookplate and shelf stamp to the front pastedown, and his ownership inscription and acquisition date at the head of the title page are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that is faded to the spine. With the publisher's printed price of 3/6 net to the spine, as called for.
A scarce Hubin listed collection of short stories seeming all with a sporting [mostly cricket] theme. At least one features Horler's series detective Martin Huish.
