First edition, first printing. Signed by the editor. Original burgundy cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Deborah McMillion-Nering illustrated dustwrapper. A fine copy, the binding square and tight, the contents clean and bright throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. There are few tiny spots to the closed text-block fore-edge. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper which is a little marked and dusty, primarily to the rear panel.

Issued in a limited edition of 500 copies. This example is inscribed by Jessica Amanda Salmonson in black ink on the title page "All best / J A Salmonson". A collection of supernatural stories by Marjorie Bowen (the pseudonym of Margaret Gabrielle Vere Long). Bowen used many other pseudonyms including George R. Preedy, Joseph Shearing and Margaret Campbell. This volume includes a preface by the author's son, Hilary Long.
