First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original blue paper-covered boards with a blue cloth spine lettered in silver, in the Rick Sternback illustrated dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh. The text block is lightly toned and the closed text-block edge has a few tiny spots, the contents are otherwise clean and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the near fine original dustwrapper which is very lightly creased at the extremities and otherwise without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped ($7.95 on the front flap).

Inscribed by Larry Niven in blue ink on the title page "For Jerry [?] / Sorry about that, / Larry Niven". Nominated for the 1977 Locus and Ditmar Awards.
