First edition, first printing. Original red cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in the dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt sharp, the contents clean throughout. In the very good dustwrapper, lightly rubbed to edges and folds, with a few nicks to extremities. Spotting to the reverse, predominantly to folds and the upper right of the front panel, lightly visible at the front (most noticeably to the white lettering on the front panel). Not price-clipped (30s to the front flap). A nice copy. Uncommon in the dustwrapper.

An omnibus edition bringing together three of Clarke's works of the 1950s, Childhood's End (1953), Prelude to Space (1951), and Expedition to Earth (1953, a collection of short stories).
