AUDIT THE PARTY FUNDS

First edition, first printing. Limited edition. Signed by Brocard Sewell. Original quarter buckram binding, brown marbled paper covered boards with titles in black on a white paper label to the upper board. Frontispiece portrait. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout.

Limited to 100 'special copies' of which this is numbered 23 and signed by Brocard Sewell to the limitation page at the rear. Brocard Sewell was a notable and often divisive British Carmelite friar and literary figure. As a younger man he was involved in printing for the Catholic arts and crafts Guild of St Joseph and St Dominic, through which he befriended the likes of Hilary Pepler and the controversial artisan Eric Gill. Often a surprisingly tolerant man, he was nevertheless a member of the Distributist League and the British Union of Fascists, through which he became closely acquainted with Oswald Mosley.
