First edition, first printing. Three Volumes. Original black cloth with gilt lettering to spines, in dustwrappers. All volumes illustrated. Vol. 1: A very good copy, the binding tight and square. The paper stock used for the first volume is of a poorer quality than that used for the other two volumes and is a little toned. There is a small crease to the top edge of p. 338, the contents are otherwise clean and without inscriptions or marks. The very good dustwrapper shows a little shelf-wear, the laminate peeling away a little at the top of the spine and outer corners. Vols. 2 and 3 are both fine, bright copies, with no blemishes to note. The dustwrappers are also fine; there is a 3mm nick/tear to the lower edge of the spine of the third volume. All dustwrappers remain unclipped (£16.95; £20.00; £25.00 net to front flap). A bright, attractive set of these classic works.
