First UK edition, first printing. Original red cloth with black lettering to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding tight and square, the cloth bright. There's a little fading to the spine tips where the cloth is unprotected by the wrapper. The contents remain clean without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the original pictorial dustwrapper, with light chipping to the extremities, tapered patches of loss to the top of the spine and to the edge of the rear panel. A few tears have been closed and reinforced from behind with what looks like the adhesive remainder of a sheet of stamps; some light scuffing/soiling to rear panel – the colours, however, remain bright and unfaded. Not price-clipped, publisher's "Cheap Edition 5s. net" label covering the original price. Scarce in the dustwrapper.
Containing "Chit of a Girl" and "Justice". Translated from the French by George Sainsbury. (Hubin; Young 49).
