First edition, first printing. Signed and dated by the author. Original illustrated card wrappers. A very good copy. The spine is gently creased, though the binding remains tight and sqaure. There are two shallow vertical creases running across the length of the front cover, as well as a shorter horizontal crease. The page block is moderately toned, but the contents are clean throughout. A nice copy.

Signed and dated, "Lincoln 2. 5. 87 [85?]", to the title page. This is the true first edition; a hardback edition was issued the following year. Provenance: from the library of the multi-award winning poet Pat Borthwick.
