DART

First edition, first printing. Inscribed and dated by the author. Original card wrappers, with French flaps. A very near fine copy, tight and square, the only blemish a two centimetre pen mark to the front panel (inside the D of the title). Correctly priced (8.99) to the inside flap. A lovely copy.

Inscribed "To Pat / love from / Alice O. / Ledbury 2009" (the location and date is written in blue ballpoint, the remainder in darker blue ink). Oswald's book-length poem, winner of the 2002 T. S. Eliot Prize, documents (becomes) the sounds, voices and sights of the River Dart in Devon, recorded over a period of three years. Provenance: from the library of the multi-award winning poet Pat Borthwick.
