First edition, first printing. Publisher's original orange cloth with black titles and border to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm although a touch bumped at the spine tips, the cloth fresh and bright. The contents with a previous owner's bookplate and shelf stamp to the front pastedown, and his ownership inscription and acquisition date at the head of the title page are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a few short closed tears and some creasing but little if anything in the way of loss. With the publisher's printed price of 7/6 net to the spine, and a 3/6 net paper label over the top.
A scarce title from the fantasist, spy, MI6 officer and serial polygamist author who was the inspiration for the excellent 2018 BBC drama "Mrs Wilson" starring Iain Glen as Alec Wilson and Ruth Wilson portraying her own grandmother, Alison Wilson. (Hubin).
