First edition, first printing. Publisher's original red cloth with black titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding firm with light rubbing and a little bumping at the extremities. The contents, with toning of the wartime paper are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a couple of short closed tears with associated creasing, without loss. Not price-clipped (8/6 net to the front flap). Scarce.
A novel about the crew of a bomber whose tail-piece had been shot up badly enough during a raid over Essen to earn them a week's leave.
