First edition, first printing. Recent full navy black morocco with gilt titles to the spine. Hand sewn endbands in black and red. All edges gilt. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece and photographs and paintings throughout in both colour and black and white. A near fine copy, the binding square, firm and clean. The contents, with some minor spotting to the first and last few pages and infrequently to the margins are otherwise clean throughout. Housed in a marbled paper-covered slipcase, which is in fine condition.
