A beautifully illustrated Folio Society edition of Ballard's semi-autobiographical novel about a boy living in Shanghai during the Japanese occupation. It was turned into a film in 1987 directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Christian Bale and John Malkovich, receiving six Oscar nominations and three Bafta awards.
