A fine copy, the binding square and tight, the contents clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Loosely laid in is an autograph letter signed from the author to a fellow award winning poet looking forward to an upcoming event and sending this book.

Inscribed by the author in blue ink on the title page "Pat, / it's been such / a real pleasure to hear you / - a true poet / lots of love / Martina". Facing the Public was a TLS Book of the Year in 2009 and won the Premio Ciampi International Prize for Poetry in 2011. Provenance: from the library of the multi-award winning poet Pat Borthwick.
