First edition, first printing. Original blue cloth with white titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth a little faded to the edges. The contents, with a bookplate to the front pastedown and light toning to the margins, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the original dustwrapper featuring a photograph of a girl dramatically hanging her head in shame, taken by the acclaimed photographer Lotte Jacobi. The price clipped dustwrapper is a little rubbed and nicked, shows some dustiness, and has a very small closed tear both on the front and rear panel.
Journalist David Hulburd tells the story of a teenage girl addicted to heroin in the USA in the 1950s.
