Uncorrected proof copy of the first edition. Publisher's original plain white paper covers, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout by Quentin Blake. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the covers with some light marking and foxing. The contents are clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed, creased and spotted dustwrapper which is a little toned at the spine, slightly nicked at the spine tips and has a patch of discolouration to the rear panel. Scarce in this form.
