First edition, first printing. Original brown cloth with a paper title label to the spine, in dustwrapper. Top edge brown. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh with just a couple of spots to the paper label on the spine. The contents with a little offsetting to the endpapers are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that it lightly chipped at the tips of the somewhat toned spine..
Milne's play opened at the Charles Hopkins Theatre in New York in 1929 and London's St James's Theatre in 1930. It was adapted into the 1931 Victor Saville directed film of the same name starring Elizabeth Allan, Edna Best, Frank Lawton and Herbert Marshall.
