Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased original dustwrapper which has a small area of bubbling to the laminate at the foot of the front spine fold. Not price-clipped (£4.25 on the front flap).

Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper "To David / with best wishes / Andrew Green". The letter, addressed to the same recipient, includes detailed information about Green's work and life at the time of the book's publication, including descriptions of the various odd jobs he did in his village to earn a living, the anticipation of controversy among "Spiritualists and Catholics" upon the publication of his forthcoming book 'Ghost Hunting - A Practical Guide', and being asked by the actor Patrick Cargill to "see him about his ghost". The first book by the influential British ghost hunter Andrew Green (1927-2004), which details hundreds of contemporary British hauntings, organised by county. He was known for his preference for scientific over religious or occult methods and was thought of by some as a secular exorcist. He wrote the first practical book on ghost hunting, and over the years was invited by scores of people to solve their ghost problems, including a widely publicised investigation of a haunting at the Royal Albert Hall in 1996.
