First edition, first printing. Original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine and upper board, in dustwrapper. With 50 black and white plates by Leigh Howard, each showcasing a different plane. A very good copy, the binding firm, the spine with a slight lean, the cloth a little rubbed at the extremities. There is a previous owner's inscription and a bookseller's label on the front pastedown, a short closed tear to the bottom edge of page 16, some spotting to the prelims and occasionally to the margins. Complete with the creased, chipped and toned dustwrapper which has a number of short tears to the edges and moderate loss to the head of the spine and upper edges. Not price-clipped (7s 6d on the front flap).
