RAISE HIGH THE ROOF BEAM, CARPENTERS and SEYMOUR, AN INTRODUCTION

First UK edition, first printing. Original dark blue cloth with silver lettering to the spine, in dustwrapper. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean and without inscriptions or stamps. In the dustwrapper, lightly rubbed to edges and folds, and lightly faded to the spine with a little toning to outer edges. There is a 2 cm closed tear to the upper edge of the rear panel. Not price-clipped (21s net to the front flap). An attractive copy.

Containing two long pieces which originally appeared in 'The New Yorker'. "Whatever their differences in mood or effect, they are both very much concerned with Seymour Glass, who is the main character in my still-uncompleted series about the Glass family" (from the author's note).
