First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original black and green patterned cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm with a little rubbing to the corners, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, with offsetting to the endpapers, half title and final page are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the good rubbed, creased and chipped silver-foiled dustwrapper that has some loss at the head of the spine and several internally repaired closed tears. Not price-clipped (7/6 on the front flap). Scarce.

Inscribed by the British Canadian author in sepia ink on the front free endpaper "Aunt Jennie / With love from the / Author - / Bradda: / 24th September 1931:". A novel about three sisters living in a small Ontario town.
