THE AMATEUR NATURALIST

First edition, first printing. Original olive cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the dustwrapper. Illustrated profusely throughout with colour photographs and black and white line drawings in the classic Dorling Kindersley style, by whom it was designed. A very good copy, the binding square and tight, the cloth a little faded to the extremities. The contents, with a 1cm closed tear to the half title, the text block top edge very lightly spotted, and the pages a little toned, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the original lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper. Not price clipped (12.50 net to the front flap).

An in-depth, visual guide from the literary naturalist and conservationist Gerald Durrell on everything nature-related, from catching butterflies to displaying animal skeletons.
