First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Association copy. Publisher's original green cloth with red titles to the spine, in the author illustrated dustwrapper. Illustrated with line drawings by the author. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping at the spine tips. The contents are clean throughout. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that is faded to the spine and panel edges. Not price-clipped (10s 6d net to the lower front flap).

Inscribed by the author to his second wife in black ink at the top of the front endpaper "To Paddy / love from / Spike". Patricia "Paddy" Ridgeway and Spike Milligan were married in June 1962 with Beatles producer George Martin as best man. The marriage ended with Patricia's death from cancer in 1978. The author's second book, a collection of poetry, stories and letters.
