First edition. Publisher's original green cloth with titles in gilt to the spine. An excellent very near fine copy, the binding square and firm showing a little bumping at the spine tips. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps.

A classic and influential work of science fiction, this copy presumably in the second state binding without gilt titles to the upper board (seen on some copies in blue cloth), although Locke gives no priority. Neither binding is particularly scarce, nor for that matter is the dustwrapper, although not present here. (Bleiler). Provenance: from the library of Martin Stone.
