Proof copy of the first edition, first printing. Original pictorial laminated boards. Issued without a dustwrapper. Illustrated in colour, including a fold out illustration of the party, by Alan Aldridge,. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a long, thin abrasion to the lower board and two short closed tears to the head of the spine. The contents, with the publisher's 'proof' stamp to the title page are otherwise clean and bright throughout. A few page corners have small creases. Uncommon in proof state.

The sequel to 'The Butterfly Ball', in which the birds, offended at not being invited to The Butterfly Ball, throw their own lavish party.
