First US edition, first printing. Original blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine and facsimile of the author's signature stamped in gilt to the front panel, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout. Illustrated bookplate of Edward W. Rockafellow affixed to front pastedown. Upper page block edge coloured blue, fore- and lower edges roughly trimmed. Upper and lower edges have sustained a few abrasions resulting in small rips and creases to the edges of a handful of pages (none of which affect the text). Minor pushing and rubbing to spine tips. In the rubbed, nicked, lightly soiled dustwrapper, mildly faded to the spine. Correctly priced $3.00 to the front flap.
