First edition, first printing. Original purple cloth with orange titles to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the near fine lightly rubbed dustwrapper that has a single short tear to the rear panel and is otherwise bright and without loss. Not price-clipped (7/6net to the spine). Scarce in dustwrapper.

Later published in America under the title 'The Prince's Darling'. A work of historical fiction, the author also wrote supernatural horror stories under the pseudonyms Marjorie Bowen and Joseph Shearing.
