First edition, first printing. Shirley Hughes' retained copy, signed by the illustrator. Original blue cloth with silver titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout by Shirley Hughes in black and white. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the spine and corners with some slight creasing, the contents clean and bright throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased original dustwrapper which has a few marks and is a little faded to the spine. Not price-clipped (£2.00 to the front flap).
