First edition, first printing. Original beige cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, in the Christopher Cornford illustrated dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and tight, the contents clean throughout. The pale cloth shows a few light marks if held to the light. There's small round stain (around a centimetre in diameter) and a a neat ownership inscription to the front free endpaper, and three small marks to the fore-edge of the page block. A small bookseller's label (Lundgrens, Malmo) is affixed to the lower right of the front pastedown. The bright, unclipped dustwrapper shows some minor rubbing to extremities (mainly along the top edge) and a few marks and scuffs to the rear panel; the colours remain clean and bright, however, without any fading or toning to the spine. Correctly priced (21s net) to the front flap. Overall, a very nice copy.

The author's seventh novel.
