A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh with a touch of fading to the extreme upper edge. The contents, toned to the page edges are otherwise clean and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed dustwrapper that has some mild toning to the extremities and a single tiny closed tear without loss to the upper front flap fold. An alternate history science fiction novel presented as a story told by a time-travelling soldier of a future in which the World Wars never happened, which is transcribed by the author's fictional grandfather 'Michael Moorcock' in 1903. It is often thought of as one of the first steampunk novels.
