Uncorrected proof copy of the first edition, first printing. Original red card covers with black titles to the spine and upper board. With black and white illustrations by Quentin Blake throughout the text. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, the covers lightly rubbed and creased. The contents, with some small ink marks to the closed text block edge and a couple of internal pages (seemingly related to the printing process), are otherwise clean and without stamps or inscriptions.
