A fine copy, the binding square and tight, the contents clean and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the bright, clean original dustwrapper which is nicked and rubbed to both spine tips, with a 1 cm tear and associated creasing to the lower edge. Not price-clipped (50s net to the front flap). Loosely laid in is an unattributed newspaper review (headlined 'The Flight from Betjeman') and a perfectly preserved, blank sheet of pale blue, headed writing paper (Basildon Bond watermarked) from the Carlton Hotel, East Cliff, Bournemouth, complete with Telegraphic Address. A handsome copy.
